It is much more simple to just replace the attitude indicator with a new or used but working unit. They are available from sources in the USA.

I replaced a unit but was wondering if it was worth overhauling the bad unit for the future if necessary.

Is it the indicator or the gyro power unit?

Never heard of a place here. Dynon D10 maybe easier. Just think of the weight you can pull out without those inverters!

Thank you for the responses, I'm trying to restore the aircraft to as original, cosmetically as possible. The F/C AI works fine, the R/C works in bank but not pitch. If the gyro platform failed wouldn't the F/C also fail?

Do I dare take a look inside the unit myself? I'm also looking to find resources for spare parts.

Swap the gauges. See if the problem follows. If so, it is the gauge. If not, maybe one of the instructor switches in the back seat has a wiring problem. Remember you can fail pitch or bank.

Yes, but only in the front, so I shouldn't be able to fail the R/C. But I'll check it out.

I'm just thinking of any wiring problems.

Good news, the new AI works, so the problem was in the old AI and not an amplifier or wiring. I still have the old AI which I'd like to get fixed for a spare if possible.
