One of my favorite bucket list flights was from Watkinsville up the coast,
into Half Moon Bay with Snoopy on the hanger roof, then up to the Golden
Gate and notorious prison on the island in my Kitfox IV based out of
 Marathon in the Florida Keys.

 Thanks for jogging the memory.

  Hi all,
Just a link to video I made a few years ago. First one from airplane, had
a little audio problem but got it fixed by designing a new cable.
The video is from Davenport, which is just north of Santa Cruz to San
  Francisco.

  Enjoy,

I sent an email to Mythbusters regarding this episode.. wish we had know sooner.

We actually had a Kitfox Series 7 here in Idaho taken out by a Bear… someone left peaches in the baggage area.. Not a good plan when in the wilderness areas with your aircraft. Repair was done with Duct Tape and flown out so that a final repair could be done.

That was hard to watch. The way they tore up that nice airplane. They should have found one in need of new fabric to do that.

I think you are looking at a promotional sacrifice, the guy who donated and
flew the aircraft is the same gentleman that owns the Belight design. I'm
sure that plane has been re-covered back at the factory.

I was wondering what was up with that guy donating what looked like his brand new airplane to have them tear it up like that.

Yeah, but that wasn't a registered airplane. That was a kitfox Lite
ultralight. I own and fly a Kitfox IV with a Subaru engine on it, USA
Registration Number N44CN. It's a real fun toy, gets off the ground quick
(100-150') and flies at about 95 mph., lands almost as short with a stall
 speed of around 35 mph.

Looked like a new plane. Guessing it came from the factory as a loan to get
the free advertising. Bet it was back at the factory and recovered in a
month. I also fly a Subaru powered classic IV. N205AK has a stratus
conversion and about the same specs. It goes places that cessnas can only
dream of. A link to some pics on www.SportFlight.net is below

Just for the record, it isn't called a "kitfox" any longer, since
Belite bought the rights to market it...or at least that is my
 understanding.
