As well as if you do a steep descent/slip on the full tank, a friend of
mine had an engine out because he unported the tank pickup due to a
steep descent, the low fuel would probably warn you before that piece of
metal/composite in front would stop.

a manometer to set the 5gal mark. Haven't flown it yet though so YMMV.
