Chapter 8 meets at Mike Steele's airport for a covered dish lunch this
Saturday at 12 noon. For those not familiar with Steele it is a grass
strip 650' elev, runways 18-36 in good condition,located 3 miles South
of Walnut Cove (N63) and is not on the charts. Contact Steele traffic
on 123.0 (same as Walnut Cove). It wll be mowed short Friday and will
be no concern for RV's with low wheel pants. There is a patch of new
grass abount 1/3 of the way down 18 and Mike would prefer that you land
short or long of it to avoid tire skids. It's smooth and firm so no
problem if you touch down on it. Mike is expecting about 45 planes so
watch out for slow flying Cubs. I know of 5 RVs for sure and I hope to
see a lot more.

I spoke to Mike at Danville and told him I would ask Palmetto Flight to make an appearance but unfortunately we are all out of town for the weekend .. have a great day at Steele Field.
