Ron Millman bought Bruce Firstman's old plane.
It had cowl flaps and air conditioning and a plenum instead of baffles.
First off, in order to do a compression test, the one piece plenum had to come off. Fortunately, he's getting a Jaguar cowling so it didn't have to go back on.
Second, Ron says he tried the cowl flaps every time he took off to see if it helped cooling. It didn't. He told me that he never noticed any change regardless of the cowl flap position.
Third, it had some sort of experimental master cylinder on the pilot's right side. Not even the same shape as a Cleveland 10-35.
Fourth, the wiring in this plane is, how shall I put it, Interesting. You can see a pic of the alternator wiring. I've never seen wiring so oil soaked and rotted as are these. THe battery cables look the same. Starter cable is new.
I'm getting down to the short strokes on this. It'll be nice when it's done.
