New 582 Stator Coil

Pulsar People,

  

 Stator coil for the 582, was out of stock at many distributors, but Lockwood had them for $727 big bucks.  I made the purchase and hope to be back in the air this weekend.

  

 Just for grins, I added up just a hand full of parts that seem to wear out or are destined for replacement.

  

        Stator Coil 996-849 727  Mag (front) 966-462 362  Mag (rear) 966-467 362  Pickup 965-769 161  Pickup 965-769 161  Crankshaft Assy 887-051 1614  Thermostat 922-511 96  Piston Assy 888-590 210  Piston Assy 888-590 210        3903      582 New Block  5048      Diff  -1145

  

 With the cost of a new engine (no carbs) at $5048 these 9 items were only $1145 from the cost of a whole engine.  I am sure others out there can add a few other popular failure or wear items and top the new engine cost.
