Yes, but does #1 meaning "Left" in that you are TESTING the left mag by turning it OFF, or that you are RUNNING on the left mag and it is actually on?

Just trying to confuse the matter even further! Smile In fact double Smile Smile

OK OK OK! Let me get this straight.

#1 = L mag #2 = R mag. And when the switch is on #1, you turn off (or grounded #2 = R mag) and if you have the switch on #2 =(R mag) you grounded the #1 (L mag). That is unless you have a unmodified Yak50 then - - - - - - -

For me the #1 reminds me of an "L" and thus the Left mag and since the #2 is the Right mag that means it fires the Rear plugs. The 50 would have screw me up! Smile

That is true, Mark. It was like that also on my Yak 50.
I was changed years ago, because it was thought to be an error.
The 50 system is more logical though because in that way, the mag switch
points to the magneto.
Now I'm used to it, so I'll leave it. For the PILOT it does not make much
difference, but the mechanic unfamiliar with the Russian Yak 50 may be
puzzledÅ

Hello,
Problem is solved:
the p-lead was out of order
the spring of the breaker was broken
the head of rotor lightly damaged.

All parts replaced by parts of M14 magnetos and all works perfectly ....
thanks to every body for help
now just needs spare parts ...
Bruno

Breaker spring busted, that happens quite often.
Is the rotor damaged by that broken spring?

I think that you can get complete mag set repair kits, for instance at
White Waltham Russian Enineering (ask Genna, top mechanic!).
