				Guys

Has anyone compiled a list of the owners of the Jabiru 3300 that have made it to top and overhaul hours.

I would be very interested in a list or database of 3300 engines with 500 or more hours by serial number if possible.

Not necessarily individual ser. numbers but according to the following table -

 0 - 960 Solid Lifters

 961 - 1683 w/ High leak Hydraulic Lifters
 1684 - 2538 w/ Slow leak hydraulic lifters

 2539 - Current

My engine is in the 961 to 1683 Serial numbers and has 214 hrs and running good. Temps on #5 & 6 cylinders get up to 325 ~ 330 CHT and I have to change throttle settings to get them under 300 deg. I spent many hours re-jetting the carb. and modifing the Ram Air inlets. I am hoping to get many more hours of Maintenance free time if that is possible.

I suspect the slow leak lifters are causing a lot of engines to come up very short on time for a top overhaul.

I know of at least one that only made it to 107 hrs. The rings were stuck solid in the ring grooves on all cylinders, valves were carboned up and the head to cylinder joints were leaking badly. This engine was run a little hot on break in but has been under 300 deg. CHT since.

I think we owners of these engines are doing the Beta testing for Jabiru.

I would like to hear some good news about engines that have made it over 500 to 600 hrs with no problems.

Are the engines in Jabiru Aircraft having the same problems we are having on other experimentals??

Is there a site where we could post hours and S. N.'s for comparison??

 Thanks

				Bobby,
Ive got a ways to go before I reach 1000 hours for the top overhaul.

However, for your info,I've got 225 hours on my engine 3300 (in a Lightning experimental); Engine S/N 1321.
My average CHTs are around 265 and my average EGTs are around: 1285
Density altitude is around 3000' and RPM is approx 2850
I live in Florida and it took a while to figure out the correct jets. I am using a 250 main jet and 283 needle jet. The plane is flying well.

Llike you, I would like to know how these engines are performing beyond 500, 1000 1500 hours.
   Thanks
   Bear

				I have #1460, 70 hrs.
Currently completely stripped to investigate low oil pressure when warm. Can clearly see where the internal leakage has been.
New bigger through bolts from Camit are being fitted with great care on the sealing we hope to have it performing well before long.
Other mods with Camit supplied parts will be published with pictures when we are finished.

My 3300 SN 33A2374 has 230 hours on it, runs good doesn't burn a noticeable amount of oil like 8 oz. in 25 hours.  Compressions good.  Cylinder temps in the 240 to 280 range.  Gary B.  N335AL

Jabiru 3300 with solid lifters (0-960) and 880 hours on it.  Cruse at about 2800rpm with CHT’s < 280 and EGT’s between 1300 and 1350.

 Thanks
