I finally got the new crankcase and fasteners for the 912S yesterday. The new design is very different. The fasteners are designed to be torqued and then stretched in several of most of the critical areas. In addition, the clamping is done by using bolts that go completely through the case instead of relying on threads in the case. I believe this allows for much higher tension and less chance of relaxation. They use thread sleeves at the end of those critical bolts in 8 spots to attach the studs that retain the jugs. The other areas that used to be threaded with helicoils are now big beefy steel inserts that appear to be threaded in. This new case is machined different to use these new fasteners. Looks like a much better design.
