Would anyone on the list that is parting out a Model 1V have a trim servo for sale. Just found out that mine has had a spike and needs replacing.
Regards
Graeme

Thanks Rick but I have just sent a money order off to the states today. You are the 3rd response I have had from the list and I appreciate your offer.

Rick,
I might be interested in it. I'm building a IV Speedster and I will be needing one. Contact me off list, thanks.

These can also be repaired economically.

Recently someone advertised a trim servo for $400.00...indicating that he spent $1000 on it new. Are we talking the elevator trim tab servo? I just checked on new ones and they can be purchased for under $200.00??

Dan,
That someone was me. You had me contact you off list with a price. I think I had it listed for 500 and told you 400. I have only the info Skystar quoted me when I was wanting a spare and that was 1200. I thought 400 was a steal. If the Part numbers match by all means go with the new 200 dollar unit. Please send me a pic of the new unit when you get it so I know what to ask for mine down the road. For those that may want the one Dan is suggesting, don't tell them it is going on an airplane. Electric lift for a boat cover maybe.

My guess here is that the two are different items. the Model IV and
Speedster use a MAC servo, a little black square thing that would run about
$200. The larger models witht the adjustable horizontal stab use a jack
screw. The key words here is the phrase, "electric lift for a boat cover",
no way would a MAC servo work on that application.

Rick, Thanks for the clarification...I am all for upgrading to a better quality part. I just wondered if we were talking the same servo. It sounds like yours is more of a heavy duty unit than the one I have seen for $200 . But will it fit the IV Speedster? Lowell seems to think it may not. John McBean...do you know the particulars on this? Thanks,
Dan

Dan, I,am building a M4 Speedster 1992, mine uses the small RAC servo as found on page 410 of Aircraft Spruce catalog (2005-2006) I have the installation instructions in my K/F M4 manual if you need it. I don,t have any way to scan, but could fax them to you. Get back to me if I can be of any help. Don
