John Casper is on board for the weekend preceding OSH! We have 3 Yaks committed. Would love to hear from the CJ crowd! Bring your L-29 and leave us all in the dust! Heck, bring your L-39 and make the locals think all that "duck n' cover" training will finally be put to good use! Come on, people! Step up - Summer goes by too quickly to just read about everyone ELSE having fun! This is for old hands and (especially!) NEWBES! It doesn't get lower pressure than this! I WILL MAKE YOU LOOK REALLY GOOD!

Happy Friday, Red Stars!
We need more planes for this caper! How can I sweeten the deal? There are a number of lodging options: 1) camping at the airport (outdoors or in a hangar) 2) hotel rooms 1/2 mile south for about $45 (bring rubber sheets and a side arm) 3) nice hotels downtown for about a "Benjamin" w/ a nice bar / better-than-average-looking female bartenders and shuttle service to / from the airport. The "Wausau Downtown Airport" is a thriving aviation haven on a main drag with numerous eateries and libation-dispensaries...One is even a "gentleman's club" that I have heard much about but certainly NEVER BEEN TO! (Great nachos!! Ask for Rico's table there and they will set you up) The airport management is WAY excited about this event and hoping to not only make it memorably-successful, but also potentially - an annual thing. They are rolling out the red(star) carpet and planning a couple large BBQ nights, live music and a movie - as well as a roaming beverage / brat cart and viewing / picnic areas for the locals. We have a pontoon boat that will be trolling the local water ways that surround the airport - great for relaxing, dusky sight seeing, dipping your toes & cooling off w/ an icy beverage served by my bikini-clad gal and her friend(s). (Remember your math? Pretty Girl + Pretty Girls = LOTSA PRETTY GIRLS!) Beer / soda is on us during all pontoon outings! PLUS we are only a 30-minute flight away from OSH, so numerous fly-bys are possible before the mass departure. Oh...did I mention CHEESE CURDS?!
Now...doesn't that sound like a fun-filled, gorgeous Wisconsin 1/2 week of fun, relaxation and warbird'ing??
JULY 15th - 18th / "AUW 2 OSH" (Catchy title, don't cha think?)
