I started it...and it is only about prices...which in the
main...Aircraft Spruce cannot do much about...since they do not make any
of the items in their catalog...that I know of... but, but, but----a
rivet that costs maybe one and a half cent selling for , was it 22 cents
in the case of the Poly Fiber version, is just plain out of the ball
park...the county, the country... That speaks to the concentration of
market share that United Coatings has...I suspect..
The thing that primed my hackles was the cost of a small turn buckle
barrel and ends...upwards of 30 dollars.. Luckily I had a stash of
these and most of the other items missing from the Firefly kit that I
bought . I figure there is only one outfit in the country making them...
and worse...Travis tells me that the engine mounts have gone to 45
bucks each...!
I know , none of this matters if one is building an RV....which is
likely the folks who give the most support to Aircraft Spruce...?
Witness the glossy EAA magazine and ads...for another..
Covered the bottom side of the first wing this evening...took me 4
hours to clean out the garage... I will do better
tomorrow...Stewart...!
I will say it again...Aircraft Spruce..good company...good people
from my experience......but they could do better if they left California
and moved to "God forbid"!! Texas.... The cost of being in business
in California has to be difficult..IMHO. Herb (through whining for a
few weeks)

Easy here guys, I believe Spruce has sponsored Matts fundraiser drives with gifts for years. All their message said was "yeah, we have these rivets from so and so that may be overpriced, but we also sell these more reasonable price rivets that are equivalent.
To me, I appreciated the info and have always found Spruce to be a great source for aviation products with great prices and better service.
Am I missing something?
