Does anyone have a tachometer drive block-off plate available? Is a gasket used with this plate? How are the nuts secured against vibration?John B

You can make one fairly easily by cutting a template from a piece of cardboard by placing the cardboard over either the old tach generator or on the accessory case and tracing the mount area. Using the template, make the cover plate out of a piece of 1/4" aluminum. Yes you need a gasket. Get one from Jill at M14P. Nuts are secured by using lock washers. Put the lock washer between the nut and a flat washer. You can also use steel metric lock nuts.

All-
Be aware of the MAJOR gotcha when messing with the Tach gen drive gear. Because of the angle that it engages the coupler this gear and the air distributor gear can slip off the accessory drive coupler very easily and you may not know it. It can then get chewed up by the coupler damaging the oil tube which feeds the accessory drive. The air distributor gear drive shares the same coupler. If any of the gears get out of place you have to come in from the other side of the accessory case which requires removing the compressor. Removing the air distributor rivals the air compressor as to which is worse. Major headaches and cursing results. You must ensure those gears are properly engaged. M14p.com did a nice article on this with the ugly pictures to prove it. Jill/Kevin, George and others can provide sage advice.
Good luck!- Hoot

Agreed, get one from George. There are some issues with the shaft from the accessory drive itself. A quarter inch plate will not work without some CNCing.
I have one from Aerostar SA in Romanian but it is not for sale. Will be glad to take a picture of it so you know what you are looking for. George has them.
