On the M-14 fuel pump there is a small vent hole for the regulator on the bottom part as you look at it. I really need a picture here to point at, but in any case, if this gets blocked with bugs, garbage, etc., it can cause erratic fuel pressure as you change altitude. Happened to me. A piece of .032 safety wire (gently) will fix it.
