Looking for advice on how and where to put the remote compass. I understand the roof behind the doors is the best place, but then the flanges are on the wrong side. Also the fixation needs to be non magnetic and adjustable. Anyone thought of an elegant solution to all that?

Hi Jeroen,
I mounted the Dynon remote compass on a small platform behind the D-panel, using brass screws. That worked well, since it is far away from any magnetic objects.

I used VELCRO to hold the remote compass. Still there after 400 hrs.
Easy to tweak for Annual.

Umm, no sure if l or others have got this wrong. The D10A remote compass is a 'black box' not a card compass. Mine is under the baggage area on the RH side on a custom made plinth.

Unfortunately touring with metal in this area tends to give magnetic variation so its not the best place. Fuel cans, folding chairs and such like do have an effect.

Apart from the above issue, the location proves acceptable and is easy to maintain.
