I talked to Dean at Lockwood and they are recommending Aeroshell Sport Plus 4 for the 912. I am getting ready to change the oil and order a case of Aeroshell. If others are interested, I can bring some to the reunion in Lawrence.

Wow, it appears we have a variety of opinions on which oil to use. I would like to survey the group to see what oil is being used. Please "reply all".
Oil?
Brand of filter?
How often is it changed?
How many hours flown?
Any maintenance issues?
I think this will be very useful information for all of us.

Mobile 1, 4T ,10w40, napa filter 1348. Change 50hrs. 650hrs total with that oil. No mechanical issues, avoided AV gas, but ran AV gas about 10% of the time. Mix both fuels now with the lll. Will probably be using AV 20% of the time.
Never used aero shell. Never used a Rotax filter.
Tried Honda semi syn motorcycle oil for running Mogas and AV gas. Using that oil reduced performance (peek HP) noticeably. Maybe 100 hours on that. Will never go back to that oil, no mechanical issues.
