Guys,
Don't know what the issue is with your trim motor but there's not a lot to it.
I had my trim motor overhauled at a local servo shop. It had bad bearings and a bad power wire that had broken inside due to a bad solder joint. It cost $300 to repair.
There are also 2 switches at the base of the rudder that control the trim motor, in addition to the box on the trim motor. The switches at the base of the rudder have contacts inside. I had to clean the contacts. If these contacts are dirty, the motor will not work. Once I did all the above, my trim motor now performs better than it ever has.

No photos. Take off the rear most spine cover on top of the tail. Under this cover, on top of the tail, and at the forward base of the vertical tail you will find 2 black switch boxes, side by side. You can't miss them. Disconnect the wires and remove the boxes. Remove the switch box covers. Very lightly clean the inside of each of the contacts with 2000 grit sandpaper. Further clean with electronics cleaner, available at most auto parts stores. Reinstall. Run the flaps up and down to re-set the switches. The dirty switch contacts cause most of the trim motor problems.
If the trim still doesn't work, would suggest having the trim motor tested. There are also microswitches in the square box on top of the trim motor. Check to make sure the microswitches are not stuck open or closed. These microswitches control where the trim motor stops in relation to the flaps by tripping various switch combinations.

Just as an aside, I believe the 2 switch boxes under the rear most spine cover on top of the tail control power to the trim motor to signal whether to run forward or backward, and all power in general to the trim motor.

Hi Guys,
It happened I crossed over the L-29 Stabilizer Trim mechanism new surplus oversea for a decent price. While I have one here in Calgary I would sell mine (new surplus) to put couple hundred bucks toward my fly tickets this July-August.
I would let it go for 870US plus shipment cost around 50US to USA (will confirm with UPS at particular address) from Calgary Canada . Payment could be thru PayPal.
If I don’t buy that one oversea then it’s lost.
