Jim,
My pump was purchased way back. Someone in the group identified this model. Supposed to be a direct replacement for the Rotax expensive one.
Top is stamped "PIERBURG". Under that in small letters is "W. Germany".
On the side of the pump is:
7 20 971 55 9-250
Someone at least 10 years ago IDed it and bought a bunch, as I remember. Several of us bought them.
I guess it is a German after market Physically it is identical with the one on the engine.
Maybe someone remembers where they came from.

Hi,
I found that some European Opel cars used same pump. I purchased years ago one aftermarket pump to see if it works. Physical dimensions are same so it fits. Earlier this year when I test fit it I decided to scrap it as it had been on my shelf about 10 years. Ended up to purchase new mode as I mentioned earlier. It has worked flawless so far. Little higher pressure as they advertise. I don't want to compromise with either ignition or fuel delivery systems.

I purchased a second hand Pierburg pump from a car wrecker (Opel) that looked to be exactly the same as the ones fitted to the Rotax engines. I fitted the pump and started up. All appeared to be good but after returning from a short text flight I found oil everywhere inside the cowl! Don't compromise safety for a few extra dollars. It's not worth the risk.
