I am considering purchasing a Pulsar as my first plane, but I don't have any experience with them. I am hoping for some help from more experienced minds.
Before I start my search, I would like to educate myself.
Is there any good resource for pre-buy information and know issues with older Pulsars?
I really like the plane on paper, but I have not had a chance to inspect one in person. I am a little concerned with fit (I'm 6', with 20" shoulders). While I have seen reports of people my size flying these little planes, I would like to sit in one (and fly in one, if possible). Would any owners be willing to let me check their plane out somewhere near Atlanta, GA?

I'm not in your area but a few years ago I had my pulsar582 sold to a guy In North Carolina. I ask him if he ever sat in one. He said no but he had been told he would fit by a few friends. Long story short he drove a trailer from Nc to Ohio to pick it up but when he got here and sat in it he absolutely would not fit at the shoulders. The shoulders are the critical dimension. Pedals are adjustable so tall guys fit fine but if your stocky in the shoulders you may not fit side to side. He drove home in tears. You must absolutely sit in one to see if you fit. As for flying, It is an absolute joy. I loved flying it Like driving a sports car in the air. I'm more of a builder than a flyer so when I had about 100 hours on it I started a Velocity and never flew it again. I also had a Gruman Tiger at the time. In the pulsar you can fly yourself and baggage or one other person but not both. I built it mostly to build and once flying I found it didn't fit my mission well. It's still for sale but only to the right person as I would have to be convinced there wasn't any liability to selling it. It won best Pulsar at Oshkosh two years in a row. Your welcome to sit in mine but I think it's a little far for you to go. Their are probably closer ones to you. Best of luck in your search. Tim

Have you joined the Pulsar Group on Yahoo. You can get all kinds of help there. Very nice bunch of people. I also just started building a PULSAR XP. Go to this link below.

That is exactly why I want to sit in one before I get too invested.

If you find yourself down near Savannah, you’re welcome to sit in mine. I’m still working on it, so you can’t fly.
