Where does one buy a atc/ato buss bar that is bigger than 12 spaces with spade connectors and hopefully has indicator light for burned out fuses?  Do I just put them side by side and end to end?  Not sure at this time how many spaces I need, but I do know, I'll need more that 12.

 Thanks
 Bob K.

The fuses themselves are available with a built-in LED that illuminates
when the fuse is blown, provided that a load is connected.
Check with https://www.steinair.com/ for both fuse blocks and fuses.
Vansaircraft also sells the lighted fuses.

Here's one source for an 18 slot version
 |
 https://www.amazon.com/BUSSMANN-15600-18-21-Circuits-Single-Common/dp/B07BY856CD/ref=sr_1_14?crid=2TG6QW3VQCA8X&keywords=bussmann+15600-20+atc+fuse+block&qid=1699319983&sprefix=bussman+15600-20+atc+fuse+block%2Caps%2C101&sr=8-14

The Bussmann 15600-xx is the number, with xx representing the number of
fuse slots. Bussmann makes them with up to 20 slots:
 https://www.eaton.com/us/en-us/catalog/emobility/series-15600-atc.html

No lights, but realistically, cessation of function is a big clue, and
the legend applied to the block will tell us where to look (after
landing).    Mine are effectively out of sight from the pilot's seat
 (hidden by my left thigh/knee).

Having said that, it's worth looking closely at where it/they will be
mounted (the 20slot is pretty long), and also whether separating stuff
into 'logical buses' might make sense; ie: lights, motors, etc on one
block and avionics on another. Not for any sort of noise issue, but
possibly just to allow more logical placement  of the blocks, and for
 ease of maintenance.

 FWIW,

 Charlie

				BobK,
Have you seen this one? https://www.amazon.com/Blade-12Volt-Without-Indicator-Damp-Proof/dp/B0B9BM2X3F/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=3CUNUO5C1DKK4&keywords=12%2BWay%2B12V%2BFuse%2BBox%2BBlade%2C&qid=1699320872&sprefix=12%2Bway%2B12v%2Bfuse%2Bbox%2Bblade%2C%2B%2Caps%2C304&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1
It has only 12 fuses and uses screw terminals, but it is fairly compact. Maybe you could use 2?
Also, this device is kinda unique because it has an integrated negative bus. It took me a while to notice but this thing has the output from each fuse along one side, and the other side is a negative bus. Battery positive goes to one stud and negative goes to the other. All-in-all a pretty compact solution.

I thought it was kinda cool. I bought one to see what it's like and it seems to be pretty good quality. I'm putting one in a client's biplane.

Thanks. I was thinking of putting it down the middle from the panel to the
fuel selector. Worked with fiberglass enough that I can make something
nice there. Bring the wires behind it from the wing and from the aft along
with can bus. Moved the canopy release to right above fuel selector.

Working on finishing kit and working on the tip up frame, plus started some
 working from the back.

B&C offers fuse blocks in 6-20 slots.

If you want light-up-fuses, those can be had separately.

Assortments are available on eBay and Amazon
although I don't consider them very useful. In 60+
years of driving, probably two dozen automobiles
and 750K plus miles, I can probably count 'blown
fuse' events on fingers and toes. They're really
easy to check manually when trouble-shooting an
inert system. I recommend staying with good quality
fuses from the car parts store.

Be VERY careful using Chinese fuses from Amazon and eBay. I saw a video test of such fuses a year or so back and the results were scary. Basically, all of the fuses were essentially 40 A fuses, even those color coded as 2 A. A visual observation showed that the fusible element was basically the same size in the entire selection of fuses.

I personally will only use fuses from Bussman/Eaton or Littlefuse. Probably safer to use a penny than a Chinese fuse.

I can no longer find the video that actually tested the fuses to failure, but this one shows the problem using fuse resistance as the surrogate.

Bussmann 15712 Rear Terminal ATC Fuse Panel, 20 position, w/Circuit Breaker Cover - MANUFACTURER: Eaton's Buss...
I wanted mine panel mounted with the wires coming out the back. The one I used had two separate 10 position buses (20 fuses total). I used one as the main bus and the other as the E-bus. But, this style requires special crimp contacts that have to be used to terminate each wire and inserted for each fuse position.

Where does one buy a atc/ato buss bar that is bigger than 12 spaces with spade connectors and hopefully has indicator light for burned out fuses? Do I just put them side by side and end to end? Not sure at this time how many spaces I need, but I do know, I'll need more that 12.

 Thanks
 Bob K.

Here is another illustrative test of no-name Chinese fuses. I would think twice before using these in an airplane. I wouldn’t use these in lawn equipment.

I have also been looking for the same, but have yet to find anything. Bussman makes a 20 slot unit (B&C sell it), but it lacks the indicator LEDs. You can buy fuses with built in LEDs, but they are a fair bit more pricey last time I checked, however, that does address the need.

Where does one buy a atc/ato buss bar that is bigger than 12 spaces with spade connectors and hopefully has indicator light for burned out fuses? Do I just put them side by side and end to end? Not sure at this time how many spaces I need, but I do know, I'll need more that 12.

  Thanks
