Call the realty office at 252-928-6261 to reserve your bikes. Be sure
to ask them to leave the bikes at the airport locked up for you. The
combination will be 5421 or 4251 for any bike lock they use (high
security, eh? Wait till you see the airport watch program at W95 -
they use seagulls for guards). Cost is $85 for two bikes for 4 days.
Well worth the convenience.

Bill,

Are you sure the hotels we are staying at don't have free bikes?

All travelers to Ocracoke "The Slushie Stand" rents bikes at $25.00 per bike
for 4 days. The are at the "T" at the harbor on your map. 252-928-1878.
They offer Adult Tricycles for you older types who need the stability. I
will probably get one to match my training wheel airplane. Bring on the
comments. Fire at will.

I've rented from the Slushee Stand before. Bikes were okay, not
great, IIRC. Not sure they will leave bikes at the airpor for you,
though. It's a long walk carrying your full kit if they don't...
maybe 1.5 miles?

Those of us at the Crew's Inn don't get complimentary bikes. For the
hotels it may be different.

Let us know what you find out. I might change my plans of a better
deal appears.

Point taken, Stripes. We should ask Alden if he'll do that for us.
Then we can shave 15 bucks each off the bike rentals if the Slushee
stand has enuf.

Translation: Len, call Alden and talk him into rides to/from the
airport on Friday/Monday as we're not into all that bike riding stuff.

Be nice to me and I'll carry Donna in my basket; I know she likes that Smile

Shouldn't be a problem. Call them to rent the bikes (unless you opt
for Slushee Stand rentals on a first-come basis) and tell them your
arrival date. Or they can leave your bikes chained up at the airport
Friday night - won't hurt anything.

I called the realty office and they said they could only rent for the week
with reservations. They said there was no chance of running out of bikes,
either. Guess I'll just get them Sat am. Thanks.
