Every time I receive an Email from you [Deneal Schilmeister (iMac)] the
contents are blank, my Email program [Outlook Express] indicates that your
message is in Mime format which I guess I can't read, does anyone else have
this problem?

Actually, if I engaged my brain before fingers start hitting 'send' buttons, I
would have checked to see whether I already have that article.
I have now done that and find I do already have it safely archived!
At least, the magazine (Flying) and date (May53) are the same. There's a Red &
White Commander 520 on the front cover and it looks like N4116B.
If it is the same one, I apologise for troubling you.

OK. So this actually brings up the question of how many 520s there are actually flying. Its not a trivial concern because STCs are hard to come by for the model, and so anything approved on any 520 becomes the basis for the few others.
I’ve heard Barry quote the number 7 as the number. If that’s the case, and we have most of them here, we can at least coordinate. BTW, Why doesn’t the FAA just suspend all of the Part 91 STC requirements when the number of airplanes gets that small?

Hi Bruce,
No, it's not N4186B!
Two reasons. Firstly, I'm virtually certain it starts N411.. The question is
whether it's N4116B or N4118B.
Secondly, N4186B (s/n 93) hadn't been built by May 1953. Its Manufacturer's
Production Flight Check wasn't until July 10th that year, with certification
following on July 31st.
