Hi Everyone!

Regrettably, Moe Mills is not now able to attend the Fly-In.

Accordingly, he will not now be able to drop me off in Oklahoma City.

So, I'm posting this to see if anyone else will be headed back in that direction after the Fly-In and, if so, whether they will be willing to drop me off there, or within driving distance.

If so, I will of course be more than happy to contribute towards the fuel costs.

If I don't hear from anyone by the middle of next week, I'll make the necessary change to the flights I have already booked.

Very Best Regards,
Barry

Hi Mason,

Thanks! But, as all my other flights are with American, so it will probably be easier for me just to add a Dayton - OKC leg in to what I've already booked.

Very Best Regards,
Barry

Hi All,

This seems like a good opportunity to remind everyone that the Fly-In is held near enough at the same time each year, i.e. the next-to-last "weekend" in September.

JimBob, I'm sure, will confirm the 'exact' rationale, but knowing this should enable everyone to realise that that "weekend" ought to kept absolutely clear of anything else in diaries. "FLY-IN" should be the very first entry you make in a new diary.

Obviously, business commitments and the arrival of siblings are more important. The idea was to avoid 'randomly selected' dates and make the Fly-In a time of year that is easily remembered, like Christmas and Easter.

So, Commander lovers MUST make sure that the next-to-last weekend of September is a "no-go" time for anything else other than Commanders.

No doubt 2007 diaries are now available, so go out, buy one and make YOUR entry in it NOW.

Moaner-in-Chief Collman.

Moaner-in-Chief Collman,

Well put old chap.
Seems that us colonials, from the old country and the penal colony seem to be able to make the fly-In every year. Not that it is far or anything.
My round trip this time will about 26 000 Mi. A complete circumnavigation of the globe.
I WONDER WHY SO MANY LOCALS CANT MAKE IT?

See Yaaaaaaall next week.

Cheers
Richard

G'day Folks,

I can't more strongly recommend our TCFG Flyins...my plan is to visit from
Oz this year and buy me a Commander...my travel is a clear 5 hours
longer than Richard's and I've got to join his chorus and appeal to locals to
sure get along and support the great folks at Commander Aero and our
very own Jimbob!

These Flyins always attract real Commander fans and you will meet many
'true believers'.

Sir Barry(Collman and chiefmoaner) will even provide you with the
complete history of your Commander just straight off his laptop; with the
exquisite detail that only Barry can divulge...you couldn't ask for
more...even the original factory colour scheme!

You've got to get along!

Cheers Russell

(Ps I hate those long flights across the Pacific!)

Hi Russell,

Regrettably, my laptop will not be accompanying me this year. With the
restrictions on hand luggage, the cameras have been promoted to No.1 position!

However, if any attendees who haven't had the history of their Commander, as far
as I know it, let me know in advance and I'll bring a paper version along.

I'll be leaving here first thing next Tuesday morning.

Barry C.

Moaner-in-Chief:

I'm sure with a small amount of arm twisting- we can get halmark to issue one of those refrigerator calendar magnets deals that will have "Commander Fly-In-Weekend" listed....

In future generations they will wonder how the next to last weekend in September became a bigger travel holiday than T-Giving....and why the airlines do so poorly in spite of all that travel.

Heck- might even surpass mothers day! Oh- wait, scratch that. I keep hearing from the Baron/Twin Cessna crowd that Commander owners are all a bunch of bastards- so apparently we don't have mothers..... Smile

Hope you all have fun- I'll be marking up my 2007 calendars right away.

Rob

WELL KIDS.

Richard Thompson from Australia arrived yesterday. Russell Legg, also from down under, arrives tomorrow at noon. We will be departing for Dayton on Wed. Barry Collmann, from the UK is on his way. Jim Mathison, owner of Twin Commander has called and will be arriving on Thursday. Lou Tran has also checked in and will be there on Thursday. How about you??  Come on guys, lets pull out the stops and make it to this event!! We all have commitments that make it difficult, but look at the effort being made by these guys!! Hope to see you there. jb
