Dear Kolbers:

My local flying club, the Greater Thumb Ultralight Flyers, successfully
concluded our major event of the year yesterday. We call it our Fall Tour
and we do what for most of us constitutes a significant cross-country trip.
This year we began at Frankenmuth, flew to a cider mill in St Johns that has
a runway where we ate lunch, then on to Clare, to Pinconning, and finally
back to Frankenmuth. Of course, everyone had to fly from and to their home
fields as well.

For me the flight was just over 330 miles and constituted a wee bit over 6
hours of stick-time. We had four Kolbs representing an interesting spectrum
of models, in my opinion. There was a Firefly, a Firestar, my own Mark II,
and a Mark IIIx.

If you'd like to see some pictures of these Kolbs during the trip, they can
be found here:
http://www.kfackler.com/kolb/tour/

I must warn you that the only thing I've done to them is some quick
cropping, but the pictures are still fairly large, as are the file sizes.
Using cable modem or DSL they shouldn't be too bad. For dial-up, it may be
more trouble than it's worth. I leave that to you.

There is also a sub-folder containing photos of the non-Kolb airplanes that
participated. Feel free to peruse them as well. Its URL is, of course, this:

Enjoy!

P.S. It was four years ago today that I first flew my Mark II. Happy
Anniversary!

Ken

Thanks for sharing those photos. One of these years I will join you on that
flight. Please keep posting the up coming flights.

Thanks again.

I'm busy trying to get my trailer finished enough to haul my plane to the
Kolb Homecoming. I'm planning to leave for the Homecoming on Thursday.

OK, I hate to be a turncoat but I sure like that 5-N-5

P.S. somebody had to be holding the stick on those photo's. Great views and really close-up. You could see the facial reactions on the PIC's on take-off.

Thanks!
