Zodiac 601's,
Does anyone have a source for nose gear steering boots? These are used
to separate the cabin from the engine compartment due to the two large
oval holes in the firewall from nose steering pushrods?
Thanks,
~Nick

Contact Doug Dugger in Northern California. I believe his wife made
his. I think she might sell them. I don't know his email, but I think
he's on this list.

This has been addressed recently on the list. Mac's web site shows what I
believe is a much better solution:
http://www.macsmachine.com/images/controllinkages/full/steer-rod-air-barrier.gif
I suggest Mac's design is superior to a boot, because the function of the
firewall is to keep an engine fire out of the cabin. The last thing you
want is two large holes covered over by a thin rubber boot when you have a
fire up front. Of course, that doesn't address the problem of containing a
fire in an epoxy-fiberglass cowling. None-the-less, I think that Mac has
the right idea.
