Jim was a frequent poster in this forum. He was also the proprietor of Mid Atlantic Sport Planes, a small sport pilot school in Virginia, one of the first of its kind in the country. His school was featured in Mechanics Illustrated and this month’s Sport Pilot magazine. There is a nice picture of 601VA on page 32. It was a CZAW built plane of excellent quality (I own one too).

This is a true tragedy for Jim's family and friends, and also for the Zenith community. He was a really enthusiastic promoter of the 601XL and of SLSA aircraft in general. This beautiful 601XL was the first one certified as a SLSA. Jim had put it up for sale in September. He was a great guy and will be missed by many.

I just got on the forum, what happened to Jim? did the 601xl he was selling crash with him in it?  is this the third crash of the month or is it the same one as last week?
