Look at this picture if you would please:

This is the small fuel line instead of the called out longer one. My issue,
the instructions call a 45 degree fitting to come out of the carb. If I use
that, the fuel line passes right over the exhaust. The 90 degree fitting
parallels the exhaust but still is within an inch. In addition, as you can
see in the picture, the fuel line make a 90 degree "curve" that "just ain't
right". More here, the firesleeves rubs the engine mount which will not
viabrate.
Suggestions or "ID'ers"
Could someone please post a link showing there fuel line run from the
mechanical fuel pump to the carb.
I need to get this firewall forward stuff done as the painter just called to
say he painted the flying surfaces BLACK over the weekend!!

Hi Dana,
I can't post a picture right now, but I ended up running mine forward with a
loop right over the airbox before going to the back. I did have a fuel flow
txdr in the line but it was behind mounted on the throttle bracket from vans
just like yours. This was still close to the exhaust, but not as close.

Dana, IMHO, I don't see a problem with what you have already. The 90
degree sweep is OK. The only thing you can do is shorten up that hose
so that it angles up from the carb to the pump. Or, make it longer so
that it can go outboard of the engine mount near the gear leg.

Dan, what you have should work fine with the addition of at least one heat shield on the exhaust tube near the carb inlet. If it were me I would use a longer hose that would pass behind the engine mount cross over tube and I would take the fuel pressure right at the carb (the port right above the inlet), but this is just because that is the way I did it and it works good.

Dana, is the fuel line long enough to go behind the mount bar that it is
touching? If you could tun the fitting on the fuel pump more toward the
rear and run the line behind the mount it looks like it might fit
better. If it will not then I would shorten the fuel line a little and
go with the setup you have. I have a fuel flow meter on mine I used the
45 degree fitting and I had to make two new hoses to make it all fit
right, also put the heat sheild on the exhaust:

Thanks Bobby and all. I used the longer fuel line since the thought on the
forum us the curve is OK. It worked much better going behind the mount.
