				I installed a Reiff pre-heater in a Tiger a few months ago. The 
 installation went fairly well.
 
 Personally, I have no need for one. The only time I ever needed a 
 pre-heat, was in Twin Falls, Idaho. It was 20 degrees outside with a 
 wind chill of -20 degrees. It was so cold (how cold was it???), when I 
 unlocked the canopy, the windshield cracked. I had the engine heated 
 for a half hour with a heater that blew heated air into the engine 
 cowling.
 
 One other time in Holbrook, Arizona, it was about 20 degrees outside. I 
 was able to get the engine started with judicious use of priming and 
 throttle. I let the engine IDLE for about 20 minutes before the oil got 
 warm enough to fly.
 
 Where do you live Bruce?  Does it get so cold you need a pre-heater?

				Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I live in Pennsylvania. Probably don't need 
 a pre-heater today, as the OAT is 60 degrees.
