Okay, guys.....on some parts of this planet people are about to celebrate Christmas. We do that at my place.
Possibly it isn't politically correct to wish a Merry Christmas to strangers.
I've enjoyed 2006 on this List. It has been fun, informative, diverse, and a lot of other things. In the end, I think I'll renew my membership because you builders just aren't strangers anymore; you're more like neighbors or old school chums......extended family.
Here's wishing all participants a Merry Christmas, or whatever you may celebrate, and a better 2007.
Thanks to Matt Dralle for the List.
Thanks to 3M for pads.
Thanks to Chris Heintz for his good work.
And if you hurry, E-Bay has Gift Certificates.
Hope none are stranded in Denver (although that pimple will clear up in a few days).
Again, thanks to all for making 2006 a pleasant journey, and,
Merry Christmas!!

Zed,
To your well worded Merry Christmas wish and Thanks, I would like to add a
special "Thanks" to Chris Smith for that very poignant post about his recent
flight. Of ALL the quality posts this year, I would vote that one to be the
BEST. Can you imagine including that letter with every set of plans that ZAC
sent out? I wonder if the rate of completion would increase. As someone else
pointed out, that post should definitely be archived, and regurgitated
frequently. Though many may deny shedding a tear, I would be willing to bet
that there are as many liars.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL,

Actually, I believe it is Politically Correct to wish someone a Merry Christmas regardless of their religion... If they aren't Christian, they should just know that I'm wishing them well and that the Christmas part doesn't apply to them.... just like if you wished me a Happy Hanukkah, I wouldn't get offended... I would just know that you are wishing me well and that particular holiday doesn't apply to me, etc...

As a society, we have tried to become more tolerant of others which is good... we just don't need to remove what is an intergral part of some of us in order to prove we are understanding of others...

Just my thoughts on the matter...

Merry Christmas!

Hello, fellow listers
Just out of curiosity, I went to the list archives and searched my first posting.
It was back in July, 1997. Through it, I bought a set of plans, second hand. The gentleman that sold them to me went to build an RV.
Before my first post, I read the whole archive - yes, those days, it was feasible. And it was before Matt came up with the don't archive thingy.
Over the past 9.5 years, I posted some 400 times, and my name was involved in some 860
emails (that I know of...!).

I discussed building sequence, rivets, bending brakes, tools, lights, LEDs, strobes, illness, round vs triangular holes, the color of rivets, fly-ins, riveted fuel tanks, and a hole lot more. I was (arguably) the first one to realize I had used the wrong color of scotch-brite, after somebody raised the (green) flag. But let's not beat that dead horse (again).

It's been 9.5 years, I am still assembling wings.

It has been fun - trading information, stories and opinions. This list is just like a bunch of friends that I can tap on the shoulder and ask just about anything, from "where do I get a bright blue do-hickey?" to a plain "why?". And, of course, that's what you get as a reply: sometimes an expert bit of information, sometimes a shrug, sometimes an opinion. And it's all fine and dandy. I wouldn't have it any other way.
And, controversial as it may be, now we even have pictures - to the delight of many and chagrin of some. Better than magazines, which you can read in one afternoon, and you can't interact with.

It's been fun, people! I have enjoyed your company, and hope you all will be around for a long while. At the very least, until my fist flight... Wink

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
May the rivet lines be straight, the drill bit sharp, and, when you finish, no "spare" parts are left in the crate/shelf/drawer/bedroom...

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU TOO ZED,
I don't live in Denver, but I do live to the SouthWest, about 70miles, at 9,100' level, and I did have a solid 18" of snow. Not as much as I had in October, but enough. My total is 77" since Sept., so I will be looking at a White Christmas, and a soft landing for Santa, so that he can deliver me my ?reen ?cothchbrite, and VG's on my removable slats!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL, A GOOD FLIGHT!!!
