Charlie Kraus's widow would love to sell his L-29.
It has been stored in their hanger since his death 2 years ago.
I started in two months ago and it seemed to work normally.
The plane is a bit rough in some places as Charlie was a bit of a character.
It has new canopies and a new windshield, new tires and fair paint.
I would plan on installing a new engine as this one is a high time engine.
I have photos of the restoration when I had the plane.
Ann can be reached at (530) 527-6226

Actually, outside of a "very few" remaining good aircraft, most in private European hands, there are not any more L29 aircraft worth bringing, either because of much to high of asking prices in Euro or because they are not in good condition. So, except for a few special remaining aircraft, all purchases will need to come from existing US inventory. In my opinion only, the US fleet of L29 aircraft can be devided up into a couple of groups. Those that have been carefully assembled, include decent avionics and have had correct on-going maintneince and those thrown together out of a container or sitting in a shed for years and have no realistic maintenance. That defines the just certifed aircraft from the one that been properly maintained, and will be safe and no surprise purchase. If you expect to pay $30,000 or $35,0000 for a certified aircraft flying I can only say "let the buyer beware" You get what you pay for

Dear All,
I am looking for a generous donor of a L-29 Delfin aircraft project. It is planned to make this project part of one or more senior design projects and/or engineering labs (including turbomachinery, aerodynamics, hydraulics, structures etc.) at our university (Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO, www.mines.edu )
There is availability of some limited funds. Transportation will be covered. Donor will be able to claim tax exemption of fair-market-value. Donor will receive public recognition.
If you have a big heart and would like to provide our students with
a one-of-a-kind hands-on learning experience, please get in touch...
