As the manufacturer of the tire it gives me
satisfaction to read your emails of field tested
performance results. Thanks for the great reviews.

installed a set some time ago, they do not seem to hold air as good as what I had prior but they are a great tire and well worth the money.
thanks

Holding Air.

I just put on my second set and found that there was a slight leak at the
bead on one tire. After the tire softened other parts of the bead began to
leak and it was almost like a blowout as it collapsed. I broke the bead on
that side and cleaned again the rim and made sure there was no debris there
and re-inflated. I am convinced it is not the tire, but likely just the way
the bead was set after inflation.

I don't know about that for sure. I had the old style taht was made from ground down 4-wheeler tires and they never leaked. I put a set of these on before the big sale due to cracks in the old resulting from an almost groundloop

That got sent before I finished. I was saying I had the old style and they never leaked. I almost ground looped and a crack came down the center of one of the old style tires due to side stress. The tires were probably dry rotted anyway as the kit set in a garage about ten years before I got it. Anyway, I put two of the new style on before the big sale and they both leak. My plane usually sits two weeks between flights due to my work and I have to add air everytime. I think it is the core. I have changed it out twice but still a small leak.

Lowell,
If you cannot see the leak , immerse the whole tire in a tank or a pool (
neighbors if you not got one. )
I use dish soap around bend before installed tire and so far so good but it
only 3 days and 4 hours flying.
I checked my pressures today and set them at about 8 or 9 psi -- what do you
others run at ?

GENTRYLL
I only have 4 hours on these tires and only thing I notices is it more like
being on skis as they do not offer much directional stability- i.e. tracking
? Kind of like driving on black ice . That being said..... I have flown
about 4 hours now on them and about 20 or 30 take offs and landings from
muddy fields, water puddles on grass about 6 inches deep , laying water in
muddy tilled field up to 10 inches deep and grass strips covered in freezing
rain and snow .

I do not find any more tendency to groudloop that with my old tires but If
you not on top of your yaw control , well I suppose it could happen.

And wow A Soobie at 575 pounds -- that is remarkable. How is the
performance ? Must be a near record for a IV with a Suberu.

Dave, I soaped them with a brush and found the leak. I recleaned the bead
area of the rim and no problem to date.
