YES it is Rick Gray from the Buffalo Farm, Ohio.
Several of your friends up there in the North-Wet have been in touch with
him.
I gave the president of your EAA Chapter his Cell phone number.
There is lots of chatter about this on OhioValleyRVator group and VAF
forums.

Was that RV-List Rick Gray from the buffalo farm in Ohio that went down here
in Oregon today out of Troutdale?
If it is I want to congratulate him on a Fine job of handling a engine out
and landing on a street without hurting or hitting
anything major.
Sorry to hear about damage to an aircraft he had only owned for a few
minutes.
Jerry

The article suggests that it was a brand new aircraft. First question mark.
Probably just new to him.
Then the landing point was perhaps 20 miles from departure (Sandy). So the
"owning for a few minutes" seems accurate as least as far as flying "his"
plane.
It will be interesting to find out why he was forced down so soon after
take-off.
It also seems like his landing point was essentially an extended final for
runway 7 at Troutdale.
