Thanks ... spoke to a couple of other UK based owners today ... one owns a -52 & could not comment (had not left the master down yet), the other a owns a -50 and had discharged the battery in this manner.
So no obvious pattern here (if there is one anyway) ... so would like to ask the Yak-List if anyone else has experienced this issue to post a one-line message giving their aircraft model & year of manufacture please.
If there are no others then I guess it's just coincidental.

According to the schematics the battery should be isolated & nothing should form a load ... but something does, as this occurs on -52s & I think on -50s too. Don't know if the CJ's have the same problem.

Rob,
YAK52/50 have left the switch down on the 52 without discharge. Have not
done that on the 50, yet.

Guys I leave all the switches down after shutdown and have never had a
problem
