Hi folks,

I want to replace my ageing and chaffed HT leads. The local Rotax agent sells it by the meter (yard!) for around £25/m or about $37! 7 meters is going to get very expensive! I have found various suppliers selling unshielded HT lead for a tiny fraction of that price, but the question is, will unshielded leads cause any problems? Some suppliers say if it suitable for ALL Rotax engines. Anybody got any experience with using unshielded leads or do ‘I have to spend vast amounts of money to get the shielded stuff from Rotax?

I’d love to put a new or reconditioned engine in my Pulsar but funds do not permit that. My engine is now 22 years old with over 1000hrs on it and it’s starting to show!

Thanks guys,

Barry

Hi Cy,

That i a very generous offer that I gladly accept! You haven’t got a spare engine lying around as well have you?? Everything on my engine is now obsolete. To upgrade the entire ignition system to the latest spec would cost over £3500 which is a quarter of the cost of a new unit.

Have you done any flying lately? Mine has been out of the air since last September due to weather, water logged runway, work and maintenance issues. Getting desperate to fly now!

My Address:
Connisbeare Cottage
Snapper
Barnstaple
Devon
EX32 7JY

Let me know how to send you and I’ll do it immediately. If you let me have an account number and sort code I'll do a direct transfer for you to save messing around with cheques etc..

Again, thank you!

Barry
