I had a catastrophic engine failure on my 912ul this weekend. The main crank froze as the result of oil begin vented from a seal at the #4 intake valve guide tube.

Anyone know of a mid-time 912ul out there?

Anyone considering updating to a 912uls would like to pull the trigger now?

as shown in previous emails, the uncertified version (uls) is what I looking for.

what ad's are lacking?

what price are you looking for? location? etc.

Hi Guys,
The S, F and A are certified engines. The 912UL (UL= Ultralight) is the 80 hp and the 912ULS (ULS = Ultralight special) is a 100 hp. The 912S is the certified version of the 912ULS. The 100 hp after 2003 comes with a slipper clutch, but the 912UL's do not unless it was added as an option. Before 2003 the 912ULS didn't have slipper clutches unless it was added as an option. The engine doesn't carry by itself an SLSA rating. That is on the total aircraft from that particular aircraft Mfg. The engine can be used in anything. If it goes into an experimental than it falls under those rules.
